Investment in Camp Zion = Changed Lives

Camp Zion donors are the kind of people who manage their money carefully, prepare for the unexpected, and care about the future. A generous gift to Camp Zion is a wise investment in one of the most life-changing experiences anywhere, and will help keep camp strong for generations to come.

There are three main funds you can give to:

1. THE GATHERING PLACE DINING HALL & FELLOWSHIP CENTER.

This ambitious project will be our new dining and meeting facility, and is currently under construction. Supply-chain issues, significant inflation, and worker shortage issues have caused costs to rise far beyond what had been projected.

2. CAMP ZION ADVANCE.

Camp Zion Advance is our general giving fund and is used for:

  • Future major capital improvements, (Examples include vehicles, boats, dock improvements, land purchases, durable goods like major equipment and appliances)

  • Need-Based Scholarships, we give out an additional $6500 each summer to specific youth campers who would not otherwise be able to afford camp.

  • Scholarships. To keep fees as low as possible, donors contribute $50,000-60,000 per year to cover operational costs not covered by camper and guest fees (Note: According to our governance policies, this shortfall number cannot be greater than 25% of operational budget.)

3. STAFF SUPPORT.

Makes it possible for staff to be employed at camp.

Additional giving avenues:

MEMORIALS.

People often choose to honor a deceased loved one by asking friends to give a memorial gift in honor of the deceased. These gifts are typically used for budgeted capital improvements.

LEGACY GIVING & ESTATE PLANNING.

Leaving a legacy gift is a tremendous way to keep camp strong after you are gone. Several options are available which may provide you with financial flexibility and tax benefits.

GIFTS OF STOCK, PROPERTY, or other financial instruments.

Transferring assets like these may help you achieve optimum tax benefit. Learn more from 5 Things You Can Give (instead of cash) from the National Christian Foundation.

GIFTS IN KIND.

Vehicles, camping trailers, boats, etc. are acceptable, but must be in good usable or saleable condition. Sorry, we cannot accept TVs, monitors, computers. Please call for more information.
